After setting up his equipment, which consisted of two fixed telephone lines, a video recorder and two cathode-ray monitors, Fred Forest left the gallery with instructions from Jacques Donguy, the gallery owner, who was responsible for answering the artist's telephone calls and switching on the video recorder at the appropriate moment. He went 400 metres further to Place Léon Blum, where he had spotted a telephone booth that would enable him to make telephone contact with the gallery he had just left... and to perform his work remotely.
