CALL TO PARTICIPATION IN LA BANQUE DU PIED (FOOT BANK)
As part of the exhibition “Fred Forest and the Technologies of Information: Archives of Video and Digital Projects,” donate your foot by participating in the Foot Bank, La Banque du Pied ! ( You hereby grant us all rights of use BY YOUR PARTICIPATION).
La Banque du Pied is a participatory initiative that invites visitors to symbolically claim ownership of the Internet by “stepping your foot” on it, much like an explorer setting foot on new land for the first time. With the increasing prevalence of technology in our daily lives, we find our mobility reduced significantly, calling less and less on those organs of ours essential for walking. By exhibiting feet, Fred Forest cleverly points to the risk of relegating them to the museum. Simultaneously, he transforms them into precious elements, challenging their often trivial, even unfavorable place in the collective imagination.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE FOOT BANK
PARTICIPATE! ! ! From the Whitebox or from home or from anywhere in the world
1-FROM HOME OR WHITEBOX OR WHATEVER IN THE WORLD :
1. Sit down and remove your shoe from your right foot. Place your bare foot on a sheet of A4 paper and draw the outline of its footprint.
2. Add your first name or your pseudonym, as well as your country and city of origin in capitals letters.
3. Using your preferred technique, create your work on the inside of the outline of your footprint foot without going beyond the outline: pen, felt-tip pen, watercolor, wash, painting, photography, digital practices, collages, etc. All techniques are accepted.
4. Once your creation is completed, scan it or take a photo of it and send it by email to: labanquedupied@centrepompidou.fr
5. Your photo will finally appear on the screen of your smartphone or computer at the same time as on a large image wall forming part of the walls of the Centre Pompidou in the Fred Forest’s exhibition.While patiently waiting to see your participation appear, accompanied by all the others, you can connect at any time to La Banque du pied by clicking on this link: https://flockler.embed.codes/j59zej

LONG BIOGRAPHY OF FRED FOREST
Fred Forest has a special place in contemporary art. Both by his personality and by his pioneering practices which mark his work. He is mainly known today for having used one by one most of the communication media that have appeared over the last fifty years. He is co-founder of three artistic movements: those of sociological art, the aesthetics of communication and ethics in art.
He represented France at the 12th São Paulo Biennale (Communication Prize) in 1973, at the 37th Venice Biennale in 1976 and at Documenta 6 in Kassel in 1977.
