Paul Ardenne
2020 Paul Ardenne
Paul Ardenne provided me with invaluable support, both for the Invisible Banana and for the Prix Marcel Duchamp bis. As sociological art is very close to contextual art, Paul Ardenne has played an important role in my artistic practice, highlighting its critical aspects on many occasions. Whether at my exhibition at the Centre des Arts d'Enghien, during the debate he led with Ruth Erickson of the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston) on my work at the Fondation Cartier, or again through his intervention at the Bibliothèque Kandinsky on the occasion of the launch of my manifesto 'Pour l'Ethique dans l'art'. And finally, his participation in the ZOOM at my Galerie Mortier, where I refused to accept the Prix Marcel Duchamp bis that I myself had founded, in complete mockery of the institutions of contemporary art.

For Paul Ardenne, Fred Forest is an innovative and committed artist, who has sought to push back the boundaries of art by exploring the new media of his time, involving the public and taking an interest in the political and social issues of his time.
