JULIA MARGARET CAMERON 1
Fred Forest decided to research an imaginary character as a type of action relating to urban sociology. For this character he borrowed the identity of a woman photographer from the previous century: Julia Margaret Cameron. In a way, to give her a second life.
Invited with a group of artists to carry out an action in the town of Angoulême, he began his research in this Charente town. Following his usual practice, he used the press to publish an advert in the local newspaper, which is read by everyone: La Charente libre. With the newspaper in hand, he strolls through the streets, showing photos of the fictitious character and the newspaper advert, giving credibility to his search and interviewing passers-by and shopkeepers.
In the second video he changes his environment and continues his sociological investigation with farmers.
Fred Forest, armed with the advert for Julia's search published by Charente Libre, talks to passers-by in the streets of Angoulême.
